001 - Hope. [Action] Quad!
[Hope was wandering around the giant new place trying to take this all in. In his hand was his acceptance letter and the course catalogue. How... Well. He'd had similar things happen. But... that didn't make this any less confusing.
He sighed, sitting down on a bench and pulling his knees up to his chest. This was... getting a little bit ridiculous. First being branded a L'Cie then... Then Pulse now this. If this sorceress was standing right in front of him! ... He'd probably get his butt kicked. He was good at magic... but he wasn't a soldier.
He clenches his fist around that letter. He wasn't a soldier. Yet.]

He was tempted for half a second to get an overhead view but remembered the words in his acceptance letter (which was in his hands now). Ah, he didn't want to startle people so early on right? Right! That didn't stop him from keeping his God Tier clothes though. Because they were totally sweet, windy thing or not. ]
[Action!]
Hope looked at his course catalogue and opened the cover. He looked down the table of contents and shook his head slightly. This... was too much to deal with right now. He'd do that bit later.
He let his legs slide down to the floor. He swung one of them absently.]
[Action!]
Looking around he spotted the rather mopey looking kid on the bench. He seemed to be the only one around for now. Oh well. He put on a friendly smile and walked over.]
Hey- you wouldn't have any idea how to get to the dorms, would you? I think I got lost.
[Action!]
Over there. That door, down the hall and to the left. I just came from there.
[He offers an almost smile.]
You're new here too huh?

[Action] Cue Snow's Theme.
[...and then, there was someone to make his mood even better. He sped up to a jog as he called out.]
Hope! Hey!
[Action]
Hey Snow! Am... Am I glad to see you!
[There's a smile on his face. A big one.]
[Action]
[He's trying to be all stern, but it fails, especially when he all but picks Hope up to hug him.]

Hope pretty much distracts his line of thought. Lazily glancing over at Hope, Damian then folds his arms and stands in front of him.]
It's spring break, zift. Why the hell're you moping?
[ooc | translations are available if you hover over the words!]

I didn't know it was spring break, I've just gotten here. And what's a zift?

Little early to be worried about a new semester, eh.

[Hope looks up at the man addressing him.]
I'm not- I've not even thought about that yet. [He sighs.] I'm new here.
no subject
[Grabs a seat on the bench next to him and offers a handshake.] Welcome to the Garden then mate. I promise, however bad it seems now, it really isn't. It gets a lot better.

[ Now that classes were over, she didn't need to worry about not having time to go out, but, the quad was still her favorite place to be, so long as she was still in the Garden. This was why it wouldn't be any surprise to catch her skipping down the stairs (noisily), unless, of course... You were someone who had just arrived and hadn't realized she was there. ]

In her own unique way, she was someone who could comfort him in those panicked minutes. And that is kind of what he needed now, but on a much lower scale than the last time.]
Vanille!
[He called out, standing and jogging towards her, before she got away.]

[ She'd been a little wrapped up in her own little world, not paying attention to much of anything. But she hears that voice, loud and clear and familiar, and when she spins to see who it's coming from, the gets a little bit of a shock. ]
Hope!
[ Without pause, she starts running toward him as well, meeting him halfway— and immediately pulls him into a hug. ]
You're here..!

Combine that with the fact that Serah's currently preoccupied with worrying about the fact that her sister seems to be missing and it's only natural that she wouldn't notice just who she's about to pass. Hopefully Hope remembers what she looks like or at least hears what Serah's worrying to herself about as she walks.]
Lightning, just where could she be? I've already checked and she's not off on a new mission. How could sis just vanish like that?
no subject
I-I'm sorry but-- [It was as if there was a shining light parting the clouds of derp! It was Serah!]
Serah!
no subject
Started Serah stops and stares at him in confusion, eyes widening a little when he says her name.]
Do I k- [She cuts off the realization dawning on her as she takes in his features. That hair, that scarf - that could only be one person.] Hope! [She smiles, genuinely happy to meet him.] You're Hope, right? Everyone's told me about you!
[Despite being relative strangers, she steps forward and pulls him into a hug. It just seems right, after all if you listen to Snow (and even Lightning) then Hope is family just like Vanille.]
I'm glad you're here. [She gives him a brief squeeze and then goes to pull away.] Have you seen them yet?
[She doesn't want to use names in case he hasn't seen Lightning, because somehow that'll just confirm that her sister really is gone. For now she's going to ignore that idea and just... face it later.]

Someone should tell Seifer there's an actual puberty boy on campus now.

After that incident, he's taken to walking around the Garden to see just what there is to see. In one hand he's still holding his course catalog and in the other he holds some cookies he'd managed to swipe on the way.
Spotting the kid on the bench with a letter and catalog on his possession, it's obvious to tell that he's new too. Without taking time to think about why he walks over and plops down next to Hope. Tossing the course catalog onto the bench he then takes a cookie and sets it practically on Hope's knees.]
Don't worry kid, place doesn't seem too bad so far. Well, the monsters are pretty intense but the cafeteria makes a mean cookie so things can't be all that bad here.
[He leans over, nudging hop with his shoulder lightly.]
Certainly nothing to mope over anyway, buck up.
no subject
[He shakes his head and sits properly on the bench.]
I just wish stuff like this would stop happening to me. It's kind of getting old.
[Cookies? He shook his head, unable to fend off the smile that's creeping onto his face.]
At least I can rot my teeth in a tasty way?
no subject
[He smiles, watching the other newcomer closely for a minute.]
Might be better than this though, throwing yourself the lamest party ever isn't going to help you out any. Gotta take things into your own hand a little bit, if you want to change thing, right?
[His smile widens as Hope's makes an appearance, that's much better.]
Was either this or an apple and while I like apples well enough cookie just sounded better. [Pausing to take a bite from one of the cookies he still had in his hands, he chewed and swallowed before adding as an afterthought.] So you got a name, kid?

[He looks up at Ron.]
It's... different. Then back home.
