[Luki is in the quad with a sketchbook and some pencil crayons. She's working quite dilligently on some art, and if one happens to glance over her shoulder, the art's pretty decent for a ten year old. It needs polishing and refinement, but she does have a certain level of attention to detail and a decent grasp of body proportions. Instead of spending a lot of money on Valentines' Day presents, she's decided to give pictures, with perhaps a little bit of chocolate to select people. It's not a holiday she ever celebrated before, so she doesn't get the need for all the hearts and flowers.

Upon noticing someone approaching, Luki abruptly closes her sketchbook. The drawings are supposed to be a surprise, after all.]

[She sets the sketchbook down to give him a big hug.]

Kree! [Flails a little, but then relaxes quickly and decides to settle for staying in phoenix form for now. Talking is overrated anyway.] Croo coo kuree~

[Obviously he is good, and happy to see her happy. Or so he says. In bird.]

[The exact words aren't understood, but the sentiment is. Luki reads tone and body language well. She releases him after a few more seconds of hugging that warm, feathery body.]

Did you go flying today?

[Nod nods and nudges his head to Luki with a head tilt to ask what she did today.]

I worked on some drawings today. But you can't see yet. They're not done.

[That, and she doesn't want to tip him off that they're Valentines' Day presents.]

[Phoenix grins and nods! How cute. Then nudges again to flomp on her a little. Cold weather actually gets to him more than he'll admit. It makes him just want to nest until it's over.]

[Fortunately, Luki can handle the weight of a generously sized phoenix. She giggles when he flomps on her, though.]


Awww...are you all tired out today?

[Nod, nod and sprawls out more. Some days it's harder than others to avoid missing his brothers.]

[Luki pats his head, giving a very light scritching along where the crest is.]

[Oh so much melting. Congratulations Luki, you have a phoenix melted on top of you. And now that he knows he can get all the attention and pets he wants, he isn't moving anytime soon.]

[Luki will be completely okay with this until she decides she wants to get up - particularly if her legs fall asleep or if she really needs to go to the bathroom. She continues to shower Marco with attention.]

[It's been a while since she'd seen Luki, mostly because they never seem to be in the same classes and she's been pretty bogged down with schoolwork as of late. Nonetheless she smiles as she sees the smaller girl sitting on a bench, looking hard at work at something.]

Are you doing homework?

[Luki looks up and laughs at that question.]

Homework? Pssh. I rush through that stuff 'cause it's boring. I'm working on something important.

Lots of things, Miss Water! Homework is just boring stuff I do so that I don't get in trouble with the teachers. Well, except for practicing in the Training Center. That's cool homework.

But homework will teach you a lot of things! And you need to do your homework to stay on top of all your classes. But, I'll admit-- Training Center practice is pretty cool homework.

Well, I've been passing my classes. It's not like I don't do homework at all. Other things are more important, that's all.

[Admittedly, she's only doing well in the physical classes that don't involve writing a lot of papers.]
