[Renton's passed the Front Gate and walked into the Lobby, letter and catalog still in his hand. He looks down and around, scratching his head. Everything is so dream like. The colors, the architecture, even the weather, in a way. Needless to say he's still confused and completely out of place.

A frown and scrunched up nose follow another attempt to make sense of things -- they have been crazy ever since Eureka crashed into his grandfather's shop, no doubt, but this...

He drops his head, exhales, then throws his hands out dramatically:]

This is insane!!

(ooc: late intro is late! Between Christmas preparations and celebrating, I thought it'd be better to postpone so I can dedicate my full attention to threads. SORRY. Bother Renton at will.)

[Why does this feel like a bad case of deja vu?] Don't bother plotting your escape. I've already tried - it's impossible - and we're kinda at a military school.

[Renton stares, then quickly pulls up the letter to read it over again.

... Well, that should teach him to pay attention.

[He's seen that look before. Damian takes a deep breath and walks closer to Renton. While Damian isn't exactly touchy-feely, he does offer his hand.]

It's... not as bad as I make it sound. Really. If you're into fighting or learning, you'll like it here.

The Headmaster's been trying to find a way to get us all home, but they've been too busy dealing with the force that brought us here - Time Compression - to really do much of anything.

This is a different world, so -- they're not after the Gekkostate. Right?

Do you know what group's sponsoring you? You should've gotten a ring too. [He waves his hand; sure enough, there's a Lapis Lazuli ring on his finger.]

[Renton stares at Damian's hand, giving it a slow and hesitant high-five. At least this kid seems nice.] I'm Renton. Renton Thurston.

My group? Uh. [He double-takes at his hand and then does another quick reading on his letter.] It doesn't say. [eyes are back on his own, Amethyst ring!] Which one is this?

[Damian blinks, standing on his tip-toes to inspect the ring] Amethyst. It's not a big deal, since you're only required to meet up with your groups on special occasions, but it's good to know. I'm Lapis Lazuli.

When bigshots come to campus, graduation... stuff like that. I haven't worn my uniform since I arrived, and it's been about five months.

OH. You'll get a uniform too, but that's also for special days.

I actually got off lucky; there's some people who've been here for nine months and counting.

Then you don't have to wear it. [eyebrow raise] It's only for special occasions; you can just show up in normal clothes to class.
