[So much for evading the problem. Mitsuru started by trying to hold herself up a little straighter...Right up until Akihiko opened his mouth. She broke eye contact with Rinoa when she heard him stammering out broken English. And when she looked over at Akihiko, it was with an expression that said 'when my ribs are finished being bruised, we are going to drill you in your second language.'
And, once she realized that it was up to her to do the talking, Mitsuru gathered up as much dignity as she could while being carried. (In other words, not very much. But it was still the thought that counted.) When she did speak, it was first in English.]
"My apologies for the disturbance...And I believe some introductions are in order, before explaining. Miss Heartily, this is Akihiko Sanada. He's from my world, and is a long standing ally and friend. He is also, however, sadly out of practice with his skills in English."
[Then, she turned back to look at Akihiko, and switched languages.]
"Akihiko, this is Rinoa Heartilly, my roommate. I had been...Hoping to avoid a meeting with her like this, but there's nothing for it. I can handle the conversation and translation."
[Then, back to Heartilly and English.]
"I encountered him in the training center...Along with a dinosaur. We were victorious over it but...Unfortunately, I let my guard down at a crucial moment."
