Mitsuru 008 // Swimming, contacts, and Executions [Week 6, SWM, MWF, 1500-1600]
[The world opens back up to something beyond the water and her arms when Mitsuru reaches the side of the pool. Once she has her arms on the pool ledge, Mitsuru also gets the chance to realize that this class isn't quite going in the direction she would prefer. She's breathing a lot harder then she'd like to admit and...Frankly it chafes a little to know that her performance was not optimal.
There's several people out of the pool and already toweling off by the time her heart slows down, and she's able to pull herself out of the water without looking or feeling like something that almost drowned. She's still dripping wet, though, and-
...And she can't help but notice that one of her classmates has also dried off abnormally quickly. How does one even do that, when her hair is that long? Mitsuru keeps watching her carefully, as she tries to figure out the answer to that.]
((OOC: Forward dated, with permission!))

Pleased that she's dry now, Katara throws the towel over her shoulder and makes her way around the pool, halting near the entrance of the locker rooms as there seemed to be a sudden rush of girls trying to leave the pool area.]
no subject
Even so, she finds herself moving closer in order to confirm her theory.]
"A-an...Interesting choice of drying off."
[She keeps her voice low as she gets closer. Partially to keep anyone from overhearing...And partially an attempt to try and hide her breathlessness. She's only half successful on that last bit.]
no subject
Oh! Oh, yeah-- it's really convenient. [Her words are equally low. There's a small pause before she speaks again:] Would you like me to bend your hair dry, too?
no subject
[Whatever Mitsuru was going to say gets knocked out of her by that question. She can't keep from double taking, and then staring at Katara to make sure she heard correctly.]
"...What did you just say, again?"
[She thinks that she can grasp the theory of this, but...Just offering straight out like that?]
no subject
Do you want me to bend your hair dry? It's a lot faster than letting it dry with the air. [She finishes with a small shrug. Katara is just trying to be nice!]
no subject
[And Mitsuru is still trying to make up her mind on whether to accept an offer that's all about compromising physical space.
On the other hand, Katara is right that it would be faster, and Mitsuru would likely feel better after drying off...
...
...Oh well, trying new things is supposed to be liberating. Why not?]
"...Alright. If the offer is still in place, I wouldn't mind it."
no subject
There! Is it all dry?
no subject
"It-Yes. Completely dry, thank you.
That is...Quite the ability you possess."
no subject
It's definitely handy, if anything. But you're able to do similar things, aren't you? The ability to control ice?
no subject
[The last part is said a bit more quietly, and without meeting the other girl's eyes. It does sting a little, to admit that her Persona might not have the same degree of flexibility over her element. She fixes her eyes beyond Katara, over at the locker room most of the other students have vanished through.]
"We may want to follow their lead. It won't be as crowded now, but it also won't be long until our next class."
no subject
Maybe you can learn to control it some more with practice? I had to practice a lot to be able to manipulate it as easily as I can now.
no subject
[Although she uses a tone that says 'but I wouldn't place my hopes very high.' Mitsuru easily keeps step with Katara as they step inside, still muling over the idea.]
"Although, I have found that I can cast a few of the elemental spells Garden trains in. None of them are feel as efficient as ice, however. And..."
[She frowns for a moment.]
"...After several attempts with it, I'm beginning to feel that fire is only a last resort attack."
no subject
Not too fond of Fire, either? I guess that's expected with our element and all. [But, of course Katara has other reasons for her prejudice against the particular element.]
But I understand what you mean-- it's a little weird, using para-magics. Using this kind of magic that's stored inside of you rather than the elements in your environment-- it doesn't feel as natural as bending.

[And once inside the locker room, she busies herself with properly folding up her towel; after getting such custom treatment, she doesn't have much need for it, and her swimsuit is pleasantly dry against her skin. Usually, the cold helps energize her and hurry her along, but this is a nice change of pace.]
"Actually...I wouldn't necessarily say the difference is that great. For me, it has always been an exercise in manipulating power from myself. The methods are still a bit...Different, however."
[Summoning without an Evoker, and having a wider range of spells, is all still taking a while to get used to.]
no subject
How is it different?
no subject
[What could potentially be a long, long discussion on Persona, Jung, Archetypes, and Shooting Yourself In The Head gets cut short when Mitsuru processes a few things.
One, is that they're both in a fairly quiet corner of the lockers, without anyone else from the girl's half of the swim team close by. The other, is that she's certain she just heard something out of place.]
"...Hold on a moment."
[She turns her head towards where she thought she heard it.]
no subject
What is it?
sorry for the wait!
Ah! And there they were! So many lovely girls~ All in so many lovely swimsuits~ Junpei's heart may have belonged to Chidori yet, but she certainly couldn't blame him for capitalizing on this, could she?
Oh. Maybe she COULD. There was Mitsuru. Oh, crap. Suddenly Junpei had a feeling this wasn't going to end well at all. Shifting a little, he attempted to sink down inside the locker so nobody would happen to see his eyes peering through the slats.
You can't see them, they can't see you. You can't see them, they can't see you.]
((OOC: Double sorry for the wait! Looks like it'll be the three of us!))
[And all at once it takes her the greatest amount of willpower not to shudder. She doesn't think there would be anything like roaches or pests in such a well maintained Garden, but now she isn't so sure.]
"Did you hear anything, by chance?"
ahhhh sorry for the wait as well!
Hrm... I didn't hear anything. Where did you hear it from?
