[ The orientation had been over for a few hours. The roaming Vanille finds herself somewhere inside the training center. A wistful hum tickles her throat as she skips through the battered terrain. Content as can be with the abundance of plants, she happily makes her way through the series of trails. A hollowing ROAR puts the small redhead to a stop dead in her tracks, her happy bubble officially burst. Slowly gazing up and up, she finds herself face to face with a T-Rexaur. ]

Whoah uh...uhhhh

[ Quickly glancing around, she decides to carefully trace her steps backwards. The T-Rexaur takes one step forward, provoking a full blown shriek from girl as the ground beneath her trembles. Without another hesitation, she stumbles into a sprint back the way she came. ]

[Vanille cringes as the ground shudders from the fall of the defeated reptile. It's definitely a surprise to her as to how easily it was taken down.]

Phew!

[She sighs, and gives a dramatic wipe of her brow before folding the binding rod and tucking it back in its holster.]

Looks like it...good job!

[ She walks around the fallen monster, tapping its body with her Blazefire Saber and making sure it really is dead before making her way to Vanille. ]

Just another battle. You're all right?

Yea, just fine. [She reassures with a nod.]

[ Glances at the T-Rexaur. ] Would've turned out bad if I wasn't.

Ehh...hehe. [She twists one toe sheepishly into the dirt.]

We better head back...in case it has family.

Right. [ Takes a quick scan of the area before walking back towards the entrance with Vanille in tow. ]

[Vanille follows behind Light with her usual buoyant skip. Once closer to the entrance, she feels it more appropriate to speak up.]

Are...any of the others with you?

Hm..I wonder if we'll all end up here. That'd be great, wouldn't it?

That depends. We'd be leaving our own mission on hold.

Ehh...well yeah but...As long as we're all together, no one would be left behind to carry it out all on their own.

[ Nods silently. Lightning still isn't sure about all this. Sure, there's the benefit of not having a ticking time bomb loom over their heads, but Lightning still can't shake the feeling that she's abandoning something important, truly important to her and to everyone else. And Serah... ]

[It would be a lie to say that the thought hadn't been growing on Vanille's mind since day one. But what is there to do? What can be done to get them sent home? She was somewhat relieved to have the weight of their duty temporarily lifted off her shoulders, but it still haunted her. Returning was the right thing, she owed it to everyone.]

[Vanille allows the silence to draw on until they reach the lobby. Promptly she skips ahead to be able to face the solemn soldier once again.]

So! You're doing the cadet thing too huh? I bet you'll blow 'em all out of the water.

[ She gives Vanille a sort of blank stare before crossing her arms. ]

Maybe. This facility could run different than Guardian Corps.
