fifth leaf [BBS/action]

1. [BBS]
hello once again garden
before my efforts were so rudely interrupted and cut short by the various trials and tribulations presented by the cold smothering embrace of time compression
thus months ago
i was placed in charge of the literary journal established by our good departed selfstyled "brofessor" strider
horrifically mishandled though his notion of irony may have been he had a few rather surprisingly excellent ideas
my placement atop the literary journal being one of them
because quite honestly who would be more qualified than i
even a broken clock is right twice in a day i suppose
oh i was speaking of striders initiatives wasnt i
yes back on track
one of them was the aforementioned literary magazine which i will now begin accepting submissions for to see publication at the end of the semester
creative writing of all sorts will be welcome
go forth ye wordsmiths of our screaming metal deathtrap of a horticulturally titled academy and deliver unto me pieces to set the world aflame

or simply whatever dreck you can manage to scribble down by striking two rapidly bouncing neurons together in the void and dragging a crayon across construction paper in some shambling babbling approximation of the written word
im hardly in a position to be picky in regards to what i expect from you all at this point in time
a submission is a submission really

another of striders ideas was that of a coffeehouse as a gathering point
something of an all ages alternative to the lounge that bars many younger cadets and seeds from entry
and with a poetry slam or something of that sort every so often to boot

comment here if youre interested
an interest meeting will be held this friday on the quad for the literary journal and i encourage you to attend if this has struck your fancy
so in other words if you arent a complete puerile vapid philistine i highly suggest you be there

tg out

2: YOUR CHOICE OF LOCALE [action]

[and David's now zipping around Garden and placing up flyers advertising the literary journal, stating that submissions are open and a time and location for the interest meeting. if you've managed to catch him while he's hanging one and not doing Light bullshit to get around, would you care to approach? comment? snark? be confused? all of the above? none of the above? DO A JIG OF SOME SORT? should i stop asking things? yes? okay!]

I can hear the screeching of the unsuspecting baristas now. Those poor souls.

[ok so she's actually still pretty sore at David, but she's practically obligated to make snide comments on his endeavors. there are just some things that take precedence over personal feelings, and that is one of them.]
thorny: (彡 that the girl just wants to be)

It doesn't get much more inspiring than that. I can feel the contemporary beatniks nodding their head in barely coherent approval at the in depth satire of man's vapidity in modern times.

Still, somehow I doubt that the minimum wage employees will enjoy being sacrificed to performance art.
thorny: (彡 away away away)

I believe that the waiver attached to the contract of employment only covers mauling by supernatural monsters and the occasional magic bolt to the forehead. Losing one's hearing because a group of academy students insisted on plumbing the depths of the void in their vicinity is decidedly outside the accepted workplace hazards.
thorny: (彡 I left it the right way to start again)

I'm sure that in a few weeks you'll be able to present a healthy dissertation on the subject built entirely from personal experience.
thorny: (彡 there was no coming on to her)

I still hold that the outcome I've expanded upon in this conversation is the only possible way the entire affair could end, although I'll certainly be happy to shower you in I told you sos when the fated day arrives.
thorny: (彡 I'm always outplayed)

[personal profile] thorny 2012-02-06 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
The only regrettable instance is that I have so many opportunities to brush up on my smug gloating. One would think that you've stopped trying, what with my sterling track record thus far.
thorny: (彡 led by the current away)

[personal profile] thorny 2012-02-11 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
My sincerest apologies. I keep forgetting that I have to raise my voice when I'm perched on the first place pedestal. Perhaps if you toned down the swooning a bit we could reach an audible compromise.
thorny: (彡 seems like it's time to begin)

[personal profile] thorny 2012-02-11 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not polite to peek into other people's dreams, dearest brother. Especially not when they're based entirely on reality.
thorny: (彡 prepare yourself to meet)

[personal profile] thorny 2012-02-11 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Not in the least. Playing the peeping tom will net you an unfortunate juvenile delinquency record, and denying solid facts of life will mark you as delusional.
thorny: (彡 they don't matter at all)

[personal profile] thorny 2012-02-11 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd certainly hope not. Given my interests and hopeful profession the weight of my hypocrisy might cause paradox space to collapse in on itself.
thorny: (彡 she's writing in the style)

[personal profile] thorny 2012-02-11 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It's only been one or two universes at present. There's still enough of the original infrastructure to lead a fulfilling lifestyle.
thorny: (彡 echo - we are all connected)

[personal profile] thorny 2012-03-26 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
My goodness. You seem to be quite confident in my ability to tear the fabric of reality asunder, perhaps overly so.
thorny: (彡 throw your weapons to the ground)

[personal profile] thorny 2012-04-13 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it simply seems to be casting aspersions over whether or not I'd be able to work quickly enough to accomplish the task single-handedly before other, presumably equally competent, people emerge to tie things up in a neat little bow. That's so much better, I'm glad you pointed out the difference to me.
