010 [BBS]

I have a question. How come you have to be 15 or older to take the SeeD exams? I can keep up just fine in the big kids fighting classes and I already knew how to fight before I came here!

Oh, and I'm not 10 anymore. It's been more than a year since I got here so I'm 11 now.

Well, to begin with, people won't hire mercenaries who are ten years old.

Not here they won't.

Eleven isn't much of a difference.

Because you're not old enough by the standards here.

Perhaps they'll let you simply stay in the Garden until you're old enough without needing to take classes, or allow you to take the exam and simply not let you take on missions. I don't think this has been an issue yet.

Wait... What? You have to be 15 to take the SeeD exam? This is nonsense! What's the point of attending this stupid school at all?

Probably a few reasons, really. Most of them boring ones, like how SeeDs require a varied skillset rather than just fighting ability. You need more emotional maturity, not just the ability to fight well.

That, and here, they'd rather kids be kids.

Hopefully, it'll break you out of that attitude.

Didn't you read the admissions/graduation info?

I don't get it either. But I guess it means we're stuck here for the next few years.

I don't know. Like I said, I don't think this has been an issue yet.

I read the letter I was given and the course book. Had I seen that I would waste my life away in this place, I would have left.

That's an understatement. It's age discrimination, pure and simple. Age should not be a factor into how skilled we are, considering I'm stronger than some of these so-called seeD's already.

So you didn't even look into the Garden rules?

Well, whatever. If you want to ignore vital information about the place you're staying in, that's your business.

Whether or not I read the rules is not the problem here. The problem is the blatant age discrimination practice that this school thinks is acceptable.
