Team Zelos is Go!
[And to think, Zelos had just been preparing his class plans (pff, yeah right) when all of a sudden, he found himself instead in a dark and rather smelly place. Above, the sounds of a large battle could be heard.
Seriously, guys, what the hell?
Zelos steps forward, letting out an exaggerated whimper as he unintentionally plunged his leg into gross wet stuff.]
Whoa whoa whoa! Man, this is not cool. Who the hell just tossed the amazing Zelos into a sewer?!
[As his eyes adjust to the dark, he recognises this place and is instantly confused. This is Meltokio's sewer. Then the battle above... a Desian attack. Hm. He'd better get out of here.
He doesn't bother to look if anyone else is here.]

Immediately she tenses, battle-readiness instantaneous, but in the next moment the weird feeling and blackness drops away, and her surroundings are all different-- ]
What--?
[ Suddenly, she claps a gloved hand to her mouth, eyes watering and trying not to choke at the smell. However, even without the tell-tale sounds of battle, she's already looking around urgently, trying to figure out just what in the world is going on.
... And trying not to lose her cool in the process. ]

He had just been lounging, doing his usual past-time of drawing, when he'd been suddenly dropped in a sewer. This... had been bad. Sewers had always been bad for him, and nearly being dropped face-first in the filth hadn't helped.
He stumbles a bit, hands clapped over his face, before it all gets the better of him and he doubles over, retching.]

He hit the sewer and came to a skid next to a boy, also face-first. The boy was gagging or something, and honestly, the pilot couldn't blame him.]
Pffftoo! [He stood up and spat unpleasant sewer fluid from his mouth. It caked around his lips, and god it was so gross.] The fuck happened?

Having fun in all that muck?

... Are you cadets?
[ She steps between them and Zelos, looking back and forth, frowning behind her hand at the comment... and then casts a deliberately-weak Fire spell into the air, bathing the sewer in a brief but bright orangey glow.
-- She knows the red-haired man at least. Not very well, but his name- ] Instructor Wilder. What is going on?

He finally turns his attention to Clarie, answering her with a wordless nod and a "yes" muffled by the thick fabric.]

[Even in weird situations, he wasn't very serious, wasn't he?
His next important duty was to run his hands through his hair, trying to get some of the sewage out. His poor, poor precious hair. How was he going to make up for this grime?! A GREAT TRAVESTY HAS BEEN WROUGHT UPON HIS BEAUTIFUL
lolLOOKS.]Yeah, yeah, I'm a cadet. What IS going on?

Claaaaire! What drags my super gorgeous ultra babe down into the Meltokio sewers?

-- Wilder. This isn't the time to be joking around.
[ And guess who isn't particularly fond of people who would rather flirt and caper about than seriously address the fact that the four of them were just thrown into an unknown sewer? Some people never change though; scowling, she mostly ignores him, turning back to the two cadets instead. ]
On your feet and look alive. Seems like the time compression might be messing with us again.
[ ... Who knows how much training they've even had so far... but she's not going to waste time quizzing them for information. Not right now. She tenses slightly at a brief increase in the sounds overhead before throwing her voice back to Zelos again. ]
Are we in danger here?
no subject
What's going on above us?
no subject
That wasn't very good.]
... Sounds like war or some shit up there.
no subject
[
A war? Probably!
[]
This is the Meltokio sewer system, which means above us is the city of Meltokio, currently under siege. The noise you hear is probably the Desians trying to get through the city walls.
I'm guessing a few'll come in through here, because these sewers? They lead to just outside the city. Hope you're ready for a fight.

I don't think we need to be getting into random battles- especially dragging around untrained cadets. [ Sorry, boys. ] Is there any other way out of here?
no subject
[] Get into the city, with the risks of projectiles landing on our heads, the occasional Desian getting through and carting us out, suspicious citizens attacking us and - if she's still alive - my wife's temper.
Or you could go the other way, get outside of the city, and run like hell before the Desians spot you. Worked for me the last time.

[Goose yanked out his firearm.] I'm probably a hell of a lot more trained than you think, lady, but you probably meant that more for the other kid anyway. [So he'd like to think.]
I'll go with any plan of attack, but just runnin' off? Sounds kinda cowardly to me.

[Tobias drops his arm, swallowing dryly but keeping a firm look.]
If they need our help, we should help them! Isn't that what we're supposed to be training for anyway?

She faces them completely, her posture boxed, making a point to force herself to ignore the sewer part of this whole thing... and then ever so casually touches the grip of the gunblade behind her. With a distinctive mechanical sound, it snaps up into place. ]
I don't care if you were a general before entering Garden. If you haven't passed the SeeD exam yet, you don't get to be the one calling the shots here. [ A breath, but she's not letting anyone else talk before she plows onward. ] Use your heads. You really want to go running off into battle when you don't know the stakes? When you don't even know what or who you're fighting for?
no subject
[]
Sorry, but this coward's getting far away from Meltokio. There's something way more important on this world than getting involved in an already-lost battle.
[]
no subject
[Except...] But hey, hey. Zelos, ain't it? What do you mean 'already-lost'?
DERP

-- Just who are you trying to "help?!" Attackers? Defenders? How are you supposed to know which one is right? [ She stares at the cadets, incredulous that her point hasn't been sinking in at all so far. ] I'm not letting you get yourselves killed because you have misguided visions of glory!
[ Yes, she has a habit of talking over others. But as much as she'd like to just leave these idiots behind, she also has no intention of showing back up at Garden with their deaths on her hands by neglect. ]
no subject
I'll put it nice and simple. Meltokio was obliterated. The fact it's still standing now tells you it's gotta be a time compression thing, right? They're fighting a losing battle. I am not gonna sit there just to let a bunch of crazy half-elves kill me.
[]
I can't just ditch my little girl, after all.
no subject
Fine, fiiiiiine. I guess I'll stick around with you worrywarts then, eh?
[Not without being a little begrudged, though.]
