[It always seemed relatively nice out around in the Quad, and the former Pikachu was lounging around with her old partner. Even though the only world she thought of as "home" was just as, if not more, beautiful, the thought of that cold, timeless world always sneaked into her thoughts every so often, enough that she had to sit outside and breathe quietly, to assure herself this was no place like that.]

[Another slow, long breath.]

I hope I never have to go back to a future like that again.

[Courtney had been busying herself in the Training Center, having settled herself in the moment she'd had the chance. She had forgotten that, despite the fact that her body had changed again, it hadn't reversed -- while she looked human enough, there were still plenty of things left over from her Pikachu form.

One of these, she had discovered, was the fact that her body had altered itself so that it generated electricity constantly. She had been used to it in her Pokemon form -- the act of discharging a small amount every little while had been automatic during calm times, and during other times, well, the issue was more along the lines of discharging too much.

However, as natural as the electricity felt in her body, she had completely forgot the need to handle it, which had ended up in... something smoking and completely fried. Which was why she was here, of course.

Quite a few monsters had been fried by this point, which was why she had taken a small break, breathing slowly as the lingers of her last attack sparked across her body.]

[Night has fallen on Balamb Garden; the halls of Garden are mostly deserted besides the stray student walking about, and even the usual faculty members are missing from their posts around the school. There's a certain festive energy through the air, the source coming from the eerily decorated Ballroom located on the second floor.

At exactly 2100, as soon as the dinner rush ends, the Garden chime sounds and the intercom clicks on. The Headmaster speaks to the Garden.

The Masquerade Ball is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom.

I repeat, the Masquerade Ball is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom. The ball will run until 2400. Students leaving the ball after curfew are to return to their dorms immediately.

The ball and its festivities tonight are being sponsored very generously by the Garden Festival Committee.

[After the announcement, the intercom falls silent. The faint sound of music can be heard from the second floor of the building.]

[Assuming that he and Courtney haven't met up yet :p]

[There's an oversized grass-lizard thing harmlessly hopping around the front gate, wondering two things:

1: What the hell is this structure supposed to be?

2: How the hell did he even get here in the first place?

So yes, truth be told, it's a bit of an annoyed grass-lizard who is completely mystified by this place, with its numerous humans and no Pokémon to be seen. He had, at least, tried talking to a bite bug, but quickly reached the conclusion that they were feral beasts.

The only thing he could think of, now, was to investigate this human structure, which was so huge as to almost be intimidating.

Sigh. What a time for time to start messing up again...
