[Waking up in a strange, new world is nothing new to Riku. After all, it happened when the islands disappeared into darkness. However, he didn't end up enrolled in a military academy back then. So, needless to say, this whole situation is different and a little overwhelming.

Time compression, Sorceresses... it's all a bunch of strange jargon to him. Still, if he's going to be stuck for a while, he might as well get used to it.

Which is exactly why he's planning on exploring every nook and cranny to get a feel for his surroundings. First stop? The cafeteria, to grab something to eat. While there, he'll probably find a quiet spot to sit on his own. No need to draw attention to himself, after all.

But once that's over with, he'll head on down to the Training Center. There, he'll showcase some of his sweet moves, including elemental magic, Keyblade techniques, tossing it at enemies like a boomerang or ramming straight into them, adding in a flurry of rapid combos... just to name a few of his techniques. He'll keep at it for a good while, noticeably keeping to himself. Obviously, someone should pester him before he overworks himself. KH folk might notice he's wielding Oathkeeper.

But after a while, he'll go ahead and park it in the library at one of the computers. By then he's blown off some steam and types up this message...]

You know, maybe I shouldn't be surprised. I've been pulled from one world to the next for a while now. Just wasn't expecting to wind up on my own again.

Or to end up back in school. So... anything I should know before classes start? Looks like I got pulled in here at the last minute. Might as well get an idea of what I'm getting into.

[ooc: Feel free to bump into Riku at any time, really. I tread to leave some options open!]

I have a question. How come you have to be 15 or older to take the SeeD exams? I can keep up just fine in the big kids fighting classes and I already knew how to fight before I came here!

Oh, and I'm not 10 anymore. It's been more than a year since I got here so I'm 11 now.

[ Cloud had decided to get up early and spend a few hours with his blades, making sure that they were in shape after the whole 'sucked into another world' thing. Once cleaned, sharpened, and polished he took the Fusion Swords outside of the Garden for practice. Sure he could have gone to the Training Center, but he had found the ceiling was just a little too close for comfort, especially when he jumped. He needed space and he needed to work off all the tension of ended up in this strange place, where even the air tasted different than what he knew.

So there he was in the field, the First Ken in hand while the five other swords formed a circle around him, going through the very simple step-slash-block-return moves of a basic kata. The air was fresh and cool, feeling good against his bare arms, and he could taste the nearby sea when the wind blew off of it. He closed his eyes, letting his feet and arms carry him around the circle.

So absorbed in his practice, he really wouldn't notice anything around him, even if it was a Sephiroth appearing in a pink apron talking about peace and harmony. ]

I can use my own magic again! What a relief. The GFs aren't bad, but you don't want to rely on them too much. Is everyone else back to normal?

To celebrate I have a little something for everyone. I'd show you, but that would spoil the surprise. I'm handing them out in the Quad!

- Aerith

[ And that gets posted. ...And then about ten minutes later, after a little more stumping at the computer, a new message gets posted! This time it's unsigned, but it's the same id number on both entries. ]

I mi-i-ight have forgotten how to do video on the computers. It's been too long. Could someone refresh my memory?

[ Okay, that might be the real reason it's a "surprise". Anyone who has seen Aerith recently will not be surprised that she's handing out flowers, those still fresh from when the unexpected powers manifested. Between springing flowers on people, she's weaving a few into larger things, like a flower crown and an assortment in a small red vase. ]

[It's late. Typically Rinoa would be back studying or getting ready for bed right now, but not tonight. Nope! Tonight is for a clandestine trip to the training center to try and get these wings under control once and for all. Sure they won't always be out, but she can always find a way to force them out at a later date.]

[The way she sees it, she might as well learn to fly while she has the chance. Of course learning to fly isn't easy. It's not instinctual for her at all. So largely it seems to involve a lot of jumping off things and a lot of falling. Rinoa's probably going to be a mass of bruises before this is over.]

[If she thinks she hears anyone, she'll try her best to hide her wings, but she's certainly not the most observant all the time. Not to mention there's not much she can do if she's mid-air. So feel free to come bother the girl with wings maybe give her grief for having wings at all, for being a sucky flier, or well whatever really.]

This system is a little old. Guess it's all you got without towers for a PHS system.

Name's Strife. Is there anyone else from Gaia here? I was told that it might be possible... but I am not holding my breath. They also explained this SeeD place as being a kind of school for fighters. Is it true they are not associated with any country or political power? Sounds too good to be true...

As for this... Whatever this is. What exactly are they expecting in return? Information?

[ooc; Strike outs are personal thoughts. Cloud is just a tiny suspicious of the good people of the Garden. And you want to switch to action, Cloud is currently holed up with Fenrir in the garage. ]

Choice A - Fisherman's Horizon
[For someone who isn't exactly used to setting foot in a town and having people actually stroll by - sometimes waving or offering a smile, other times a crotchety old glare and a mutter about "kids these days" - this place is rather unsettling for a kid who'd almost, bitter as it was, gotten accustomed to pretty much the whole of humanity running screaming in terror. Whether it be away or toward, with crudely brandished makeshift weapons.

Hope clasps a hand over his tummy, exhaling slowly before continuing his trek toward the Inn as he'd been directed. Now that it's finally sinking in that this is a safe place, at least in comparison to what he's endured over the past few days, most of the unconscious fight-or-flight reactions are kept at bay.

And thus he's busy craning his neck this way and that, trying to take everything in. One thing that catches his eye in particular is the huge circular panel and everything that surrounds it. So much, in fact, that he's too busy twisting his head around to try and get a better look at it as he walks. Most likely bumping into other fellow students on their stay here or the town's citizens as he does so.

He can be caught on his way to the inn or heading toward the Garden a bit later, changed into his student uniform and looking every bit confused and bewildered as before.

Choice B - Balamb Garden
[The next term won't be starting for a little while, Hope was told, so he's entirely free until then. After making it to the F.H. Inn, he'd spent some time sitting on his bed staring at the class roster—only to discover some very familiar names, one more bemusing than the others.

Therefore! First order of business? Finding the others. It's just a matter of finding the right classrooms.

Willing his heart to stay where it belongs (that's in his chest and not leaping out of his palate the way it's been threatening), hesitant footsteps carry him away from the large directory panel he'd been staring at and toward where he might find one of those very places. He only gets halfway up the stairs before pausing again, lifting up the wrinkled sheet in his hands and staring down at all the names, course numbers, and corresponding rooms. It's starting to all blur together, making his head spin. Hope squeezes his eyes shut with a frustrated sigh, then practically leaps up the rest of the stairs leading to the elevator.

It's entirely hit-or-miss for him, but he'll be hitting up the Farron, Villiers and Katzroy courses first thing - and in that order. Other cadets might see him weaving his way through random little crowds of fellow students, probably getting smacked into due to his tiny (therefore near-invisible) height and knocked around a few times; or he'll be nervously waiting outside one of the classrooms, attempting to find a way to peer inside. He can't summon up the courage to just barge on in there, as much as he'd like to.

[What an... interesting ordeal the past few days have been.]

[It had pretty much taken Data Riku this long to just wrap his head around the general concepts of 'school', 'eating', and other such minuteae. Physical bodies were quite the unexpected trouble. But fortunately Dataku was a smart bugger, so he had been able to figure it out eventually, though not without his fair share of humiliation.]

[Humiliation such as what had just happened a few minutes ago.]

[By virtue of the data within him that concerned Sora's bank account, Dataku had thought that he was set as far as munny was concerned. But no. He had all the money he needed... except it was now a foreign currency that he had no idea what to do with. So buying one of these 'sandwich' things had suddenly become much harder, and he had needed the girl running the counter to help him sort it out. Embarrassment ahoy.]

[So here he was now, sitting on a bench with a barely-touched sandiwch next to him, puzzling over a number of assorted colored coins. This 'gil' was so ridiculous. The 50-gil coins were the green ones, right? Or were they silver?]

This makes no sense..Mithos, what did you do?! Damn it..

[Hello, Garden.

Today is a pretty normal day, despite all the things going around.

The birds sing, the sun is up, and Clark Kent is walking around, headed for his Basic English class. The exams are almost here, so he has a lot of work to do. He wants all of his students to pass, and he's doing his best to teach them properly.

So yes, pretty normal day.

Well, except for the fact that Clark's upper body seems to be completely invisible as he walks, and he doesn't seem to be noticing...]

[OOC: Clark power-swapped with Danny Phantom this week! I am, sadly, still unfamiliar with that fandom so I am getting most my information from the respective wiki. Please, do tell me if I get something wrong.

[ Claire might be overly-serious and often annoyed by what is seemingly the strangest, smallest thing, but over the last week or so... yeah, something has definitely thrown her off completely-- even more so than the now-regular hints here and there that something is wrong.

Case in point #1: she's carrying around a weapon with her pretty much all the time now, regardless of any odd looks she gets. Standing in the cafeteria line? Yep, there's her bronze-colored FF8-style gunblade hanging sheathed behind her. Walking to class? That's her folded-up blue and gunmetal-black gunblade that came with her from home...

Case in point #2: she keeps messing with the lights even in the middle of class, and even though normally she's glad for the fact that her classrooms have windows, the dark looks she keeps aiming towards them from the other side of the room are... odd, to say the least. Eventually-- ]

Alright, that's enough. We're finished for the day.

[ ... Then, she moves to leave without another word. Simple as that.

However, afterwards she... still isn't looking so good at all, arm outstretched to lean against a wall outside, somewhere in between Garden's entrance and the inn. With her head bowed and eyes closed, she's pale, noticeably sweating, and totally tuned out to what's going on around her.

And furthermore? Those with a particularly keen sense of observation might notice something else interesting- wherever her clothes don't cover, she's... not casting a shadow. Weird. ]

[Your name is GAMZEE MAKARA, and you are finding yourself faced with the biggest miracle you have ever caused in your life.

... okay, no, that's not right. Real formatting: Gamzee Makara, Witches Reign's one and only sopor-meister, is finding himself faced with the biggest miracle he has ever caused in his life.

Much better.

One might find Gamzee sitting in a table and looking incredibly amazed. Shocked. In a total stupor. Yes, while he is finding himself unable to touch his sylladex and reach for his bicycle horns or clubs, he is able to cause a miracle of a different kind now.

He literally bears the miracle of allowing Faygo and sopor pies to appear out of nowhere, along with miscellaneous, yet very minor and/or insignificant (to others, at least) miracles. No, really. He thinks that he's hankering for a pie right now, and suddenly, there is three! He then wants a Faygo, and suddenly, a 2-liter bottle appears next to him.

He couldn't comprehend these miracles. I mean, how the fuck does this kind of thing happen? What made these motherfuckers just pop out of nowhere?

Miracles is what.

Greetings, fellow students and instructors. I have... A confession to make.

[Here goes. This may not be received well.]

My name is not Sora. I myself was actually lacking a name, so I took the name of someone I share a close relationship with. Recently, a friend of his gave me my own name.

[...This is very uncomfortable. He doesn't like to admit his lies, his shortcomings, his lack of a true identity.]

I am now named Ardos. It's a pleasure to meet you once again.

Okay, um. I think maybe something wasn't right with the medicine I took when I was sick a little while ago? I feel really good right now, actually, but it's only been a few days since I was let out and I've already broken a bunch of doors and some walls. And I'm not usually strong at all or anything...

Also, if anyone sees a burnt tree covered in ice...I think that was my fault too.

So, yeah. I think my medicine might've had something wrong with it.

[Later, Danny is fidgeting pretty seriously outside the building. He didn't want to go back outside, not after he got sick from all the germs out there, but staying inside was more hazardous to everyone else, given how many doors he'd broken. If he stayed inside any longer, he worried that he would bring down the foundations of the building and send the whole thing collapsing.

So now he stands on the grass, wringing his hands and glancing around impatiently.

Except for the bit where he suddenly finds himself floating 15 feet off the ground and rising.]

Oh--oh man! Um! Can--can somebody please help?!

[ Making their way from the Garden Lobby to the Fisherman's Horizon inn are a boy and a girl, each with a course catalog tucked under their arms and matching confused faces. Their bodies are turned into each other slightly, enough to let onlookers know that they're friends. The girl's eyes keep darting about, whether in amazement or sheer surprise is difficult to tell. The boy looks warier, shoulders hunched, stooping like a silver gargoyle over his companion. At some points, the girl rushes into the fancy shops, leaving the boy alone on the street, his eyes snagging on every pooled shadow.

They're probably going to get epically lost. Help them out?

Chapter 1: The Library

[A smile alights Belle's face, her being thoroughly engrossed in the current book within her hands as she sits at an otherwise unoccupied table in the library. She's appears to be quite far gone within her reading and seemingly unaware of everyone else within the room, let alone near by. It's not hard to imagine that a herd of chocobos could be running about, darting in and out of the shelves, jumping from atop the computers, and she wouldn't bat an eye.

However... as you approach, she speaks up without ever looking up from her book. Her voice is soft, as you're in the library after all, but not as distracted as you'd imagine from the bookworm SeeD.]

The other seats are not in use nor being saved, if you need to get some work done.

Chapter 2: Cafeteria

[It's a strange sight, to those who know Belle, but instead of a book in her hand as she eats, she's going over ... paperwork.

Alright, perhaps not that strange of a sight, but strange enough for the well known bookworm. Of course, even an instructor should take time to go over their lessons and grade work. While she isn't naive enough to think that her students are eager to get their assignments back as soon as possible, or in dire need of homework assignments come Monday, she's focused upon getting these tasks completed and ready. Nothing shall distract her from this chosen course of work!

Except, you, if you'd like. Go for it.]

[Night has fallen on Balamb Garden; the halls of Garden are mostly deserted besides the stray student walking about, and even the usual faculty members are missing from their posts around the school. There's a certain festive energy through the air, the source coming from the happily decorated Ballroom located on the second floor.

At exactly 2100, as soon as the dinner rush ends, the Garden chime sounds and the intercom clicks on. The Headmaster speaks to the Garden.

The Homecoming Dance is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom.

I repeat, the Homecoming Dance is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom. The ball will run until 2400. Students leaving the ball after curfew are to return to their dorms immediately.

The ball and its festivities tonight are being sponsored very generously by the Garden Festival Committee.

[There seems to be a festive atmosphere all throughout Garden. Why? Because it's the Homecoming Carnival! The Garden Festival Committee has been hard at work all morning and when 1300 hours strikes, it's finally open for everyone to enjoy.

There's a map on the Directory which shows where everything is located:

Have fun, Garden!]

[OOC: As noted, this has been backdated to last Friday. So as not to exclude new characters who came in after, though, it can be assumed that their arrivals were backdated so they can participate.

PLEASE DO NOT POST UNTIL WE HAVE FINISHED PUTTING UP THE SUBCOMMENTS. Thank you! We're done posting the subcomments, you can go ahead and jump in!

EDIT: Also, we forgot to mention: Players can assume that characters take different shifts which allow for everyone to enjoy other parts of the carnival as well instead of being stuck manning a booth the whole night. For Dunk Tank and Kissing Booth, it's best to leave your character's name in the subject of their comment to start off their thread to indicate their shift. Thank you!

EDIT 2: FORGIVE US! We forgot to mention that there is a price for some of the attractions at the carnival. This is a fundraiser where the money can to go whatever the Garden Festival Committee sees fit; we'll let the players and their characters decide on that front. Here's how the pricing goes:

KISS: 2 gil each
CARNIVAL GAME: 1 gil per game
FACE PAINTING: 2 gil per person
FOOD STALLS: We'll leave this up to characters to decide.
DUNK TANK: 5 gil for 3 balls, 10 gil for 10 balls
FORTUNE TELLING: 3 gil per reading

We hope this clarifies things!
