How many people have come from worlds where chocobos and magic similar to the GF system exist? Do you find the system odd or is there enough similarities that you can pick it up easier? Are there animals or monsters that you expect to see in this world that you haven't? Are there monsters or animals that you were surprised to see here?

The Library is okay for general information, but I was just wondering if there were other people that come from a planet almost like this one.

[HEY THERE GARDEN. You remember that awesome party this past weekend? Yeah? Have a lot of fun? Maybe you got together with that cute guy (or gal). Wore that bikini that was just a too bit skimpy? Had a bit too much to drink? Or you totally faceplanted trying to hit that volleyball.

Whatever it was? All those embarrassing things that should stay back on that beach and never be talked about?

They are totally plastered up on the backside of the Garden Directory in picture form. That's right. This is the Wall of Shame. Sorry were you hoping no one saw all that? Enjoy your photos guys B)]

((ooc: up to you guys whatever Seifer and Japan caught pictures of, make stuff up, HAVE FUN /o/!))

This system is a little old. Guess it's all you got without towers for a PHS system.

Name's Strife. Is there anyone else from Gaia here? I was told that it might be possible... but I am not holding my breath. They also explained this SeeD place as being a kind of school for fighters. Is it true they are not associated with any country or political power? Sounds too good to be true...

As for this... Whatever this is. What exactly are they expecting in return? Information?

[ooc; Strike outs are personal thoughts. Cloud is just a tiny suspicious of the good people of the Garden. And you want to switch to action, Cloud is currently holed up with Fenrir in the garage. ]

Seriously?! I thought we were done with this Time Compression stuff! Well, the letter said the scientists are tryin' to find a way to send us all back, so I guess I'm not gonna be stuck here forever. I can go right back to where I left off, right?

So, what's different in the future? Do we have any cool new technology, like those tunnels and hovering platforms in Esthar? Or maybe TELEPORTERS?! Is Squall still the commander? Oh man, all my friends are gonna be so OLD, and I'm still just 17! That's gonna be so weird. Hey! Is there some kind of future-me runnin' around here?! After 20 years of missions and training, I bet I'm AWESOME!!

And oh! That letter said something about, uh... off-worlders? Like ALIENS?!! That's so cool! What kind of powers do they have? I wanna meet one!!!

Choice A - Fisherman's Horizon
[For someone who isn't exactly used to setting foot in a town and having people actually stroll by - sometimes waving or offering a smile, other times a crotchety old glare and a mutter about "kids these days" - this place is rather unsettling for a kid who'd almost, bitter as it was, gotten accustomed to pretty much the whole of humanity running screaming in terror. Whether it be away or toward, with crudely brandished makeshift weapons.

Hope clasps a hand over his tummy, exhaling slowly before continuing his trek toward the Inn as he'd been directed. Now that it's finally sinking in that this is a safe place, at least in comparison to what he's endured over the past few days, most of the unconscious fight-or-flight reactions are kept at bay.

And thus he's busy craning his neck this way and that, trying to take everything in. One thing that catches his eye in particular is the huge circular panel and everything that surrounds it. So much, in fact, that he's too busy twisting his head around to try and get a better look at it as he walks. Most likely bumping into other fellow students on their stay here or the town's citizens as he does so.

He can be caught on his way to the inn or heading toward the Garden a bit later, changed into his student uniform and looking every bit confused and bewildered as before.

Choice B - Balamb Garden
[The next term won't be starting for a little while, Hope was told, so he's entirely free until then. After making it to the F.H. Inn, he'd spent some time sitting on his bed staring at the class roster—only to discover some very familiar names, one more bemusing than the others.

Therefore! First order of business? Finding the others. It's just a matter of finding the right classrooms.

Willing his heart to stay where it belongs (that's in his chest and not leaping out of his palate the way it's been threatening), hesitant footsteps carry him away from the large directory panel he'd been staring at and toward where he might find one of those very places. He only gets halfway up the stairs before pausing again, lifting up the wrinkled sheet in his hands and staring down at all the names, course numbers, and corresponding rooms. It's starting to all blur together, making his head spin. Hope squeezes his eyes shut with a frustrated sigh, then practically leaps up the rest of the stairs leading to the elevator.

It's entirely hit-or-miss for him, but he'll be hitting up the Farron, Villiers and Katzroy courses first thing - and in that order. Other cadets might see him weaving his way through random little crowds of fellow students, probably getting smacked into due to his tiny (therefore near-invisible) height and knocked around a few times; or he'll be nervously waiting outside one of the classrooms, attempting to find a way to peer inside. He can't summon up the courage to just barge on in there, as much as he'd like to.

[Scenario A]

[This town wasn't so bad, really. It reminded her a bit of Oerba - it just had that quiet sense where everyone seemed to know each other. Well, it used to, probably. She figured all of these extra people in town weren't doing much for the quiet.

Not that any Garden students were causing a ruckus. Good thing, since even though as a SeeD, she was supposed to be setting an example and enforcing all of those rules, she wasn't really up for the task. Hey, if everyone was old enough to be wandering around town, they were old enough to keep themselves in line.

Even so, Fang found herself wandering along the Horizon Bridge, inadvertently keeping an eye on things. Well, half an eye, anyway. What she was really thinking was that this spot probably had a fabulous sunset. Maybe she'd risk breaking curfew to see it, though it was a silly thing to break it for.

Hmph. Rules. Who needed 'em?]

[Scenario B]

[Whether it from being a l'cie or just because of plain old unwillingness to let anything get the best of her, Fang usually had no problem in taking down a T-Rexaur - as long as it was just one at a time. Sort of like the King Behemoths back home.

On this particular night, though, this one seemed to be giving her trouble. She'd sought out the Training Center since she was feeling particularly restless and of course, she could only go here. Nothing wrong with getting rid of some beasts to help someone sleep, right?

Maybe she was more tired than she'd thought, because this thing was certainly putting up a fight. It wasn't as though she didn't feel strong enough to beat it; more like...she was drawing her strength from the wrong sources. But that was stupid. She knew her strengths better than anyone, after all, and had been using them and fighting for a lot longer than most.

Bah. Perhaps she should use a status spell, though she'd been finding little use for them lately. She held her spear out for defense, calling up her rather pitiful stockpile of magic for a Sleep or something, but to her surprise, instead of the intended spell, a tiny burst of flame shot from her hand. It wasn't anything at all impressive - it lasted barely a moment, but it was enough to startle her into staring at her hand in surprise.

That hadn't been l'cie magic...or her l'cie magic, anyway, unless she'd gained a few new abilities while she wasn't looking. Hmph. If no one had seen it, it probably wasn't anything getting herself all worked up over. Spell flukes happened, right? She needed to concentrate on this beast, anyway, before it saw fit to chomp her right in half.]

[A long-term patient within the Infirmary is waking up from a very, very long sleep. He stares up at the ceiling for a moment, one hand pressed to his forehead as he tries to figure out why he's here and not fighting in the training center.]

...Ngh. [He sits up slowly, green eyes hazy as he comes to his senses. How did he get here? Is there anyone around?] Hello...?

[Several hours later, a new message is posted on the BBS:]

To my instructors,

I'm sorry for my prolonged absence. Dr. Kadowaki let me leave the infirmary today.

Is catching up... still possible?

Scenario A

[Fresh off a mission, Yukio's taking a break on one of the many wharves in Fisherman's Horizon. Seated on a rather battered suitcase, he's got a bag of supplies with a variety of bottles, flasks, and boxes at his feet, while in his lap, Yukio has a belt with a number of pouches and little vials attached--like his own version of a utility belt, really.

From the looks of things, he's restocking something or another, but what, exactly, isn't easily obvious from a distance. Sure, it probably makes more sense for him to do this in his room at the inn, but as all work surfaces are currently occupied by books, luggage, and a few potted plants, he may as well come out and enjoy the ocean breeze while he's at it.

Scenario B

[Truth be told, Yukio hasn't had much time to work on his marksmanship during his travels. Increasing his medical knowledge had been the goal of his international journey, and while he did have the occasional opportunity to practice, he's rather happy to be back in the training center.

Having provoked a crowd of grats into following him, he stops in a clearing with his handguns held at the ready. When he starts firing, his shots are disturbingly accurate--almost as if he's predicting the locations of the monsters around him, even when they are coming at him from behind. At this rate, it won't take him long to clear out the rest of the grats around him...

Well, it looks like his skills haven't gotten rusty at least.

Scenario C

[Teaching isn't new to Yukio, but unfortunately, he's coming in and starting right smack dab in the middle of the quarter. He's claimed a table in the library for himself and appears to be in the process of comparing his own notes to that of the previous instructor for the course. Additionally, Yukio has lists of the class rosters and several piles of texts in front of him as well.

He's frowning a bit, but whether that's because he's unhappy with something or just concentrating is hard to tell.

[School? Dragged off to another world and he was attending school? You had to be kidding him. The only reason Seifer hadn't split yet was because he didn't know a thing about this world. Good to keep your options open right? ...Well that and if Fuu, Rai and Vivi showed up he wanted to grab them before some loser started filling their heads with mush. ...And Fuu gave someone a black eye. That wouldn't be pretty.

For now though he was just wandering around Garden, if you could call this a garden seriously what were these people on when they named this thing, checking things out. Maybe you find him in the cafeteria, maybe the training center, skulking around the classrooms. He's got a list of courses he's supposed to be taking, but he's not exactly keen on showing up for anything just yet. Not until he gets the rundown on this place.

After all who knows maybe this is a kidnapping he's not going to believe something just because it was on a piece of paper.]

I'd like to speak to you; please come to the cafeteria during lunch hour.

[BBS PM to: Fang, Sazh, Serah, and Vanille]

It's Hope's birthday on Saturday, and Snow and I are planning on throwing him a surprise party in one of the classrooms. We could use the help, if you want to help, but I know he'd appreciate you all being there. Just let me know if you can help or not; there's a lot that still needs doing before then.

[Action: Dorms, Hall 2, Room 220]

[As just about everyone knows, construction is about to begin, and just about everyone's packed. Lightning is as well, as evident by the near overstuffed bag on her bed. So why, if her bag is packed, is she on her hands and knees on the floor like she's looking for something? Seems a little concerned, too.]

[Night has fallen on Balamb Garden; the halls of Garden are mostly deserted besides the stray student walking about, and even the usual faculty members are missing from their posts around the school. There's a certain festive energy through the air, the source coming from the happily decorated Ballroom located on the second floor.

At exactly 2100, as soon as the dinner rush ends, the Garden chime sounds and the intercom clicks on. The Headmaster speaks to the Garden.

The Homecoming Dance is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom.

I repeat, the Homecoming Dance is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom. The ball will run until 2400. Students leaving the ball after curfew are to return to their dorms immediately.

The ball and its festivities tonight are being sponsored very generously by the Garden Festival Committee.

[After the announcement, the intercom falls silent. The faint sound of music can be heard from the second floor of the building.]

[There seems to be a festive atmosphere all throughout Garden. Why? Because it's the Homecoming Carnival! The Garden Festival Committee has been hard at work all morning and when 1300 hours strikes, it's finally open for everyone to enjoy.

There's a map on the Directory which shows where everything is located:

Have fun, Garden!]

[OOC: As noted, this has been backdated to last Friday. So as not to exclude new characters who came in after, though, it can be assumed that their arrivals were backdated so they can participate.

PLEASE DO NOT POST UNTIL WE HAVE FINISHED PUTTING UP THE SUBCOMMENTS. Thank you! We're done posting the subcomments, you can go ahead and jump in!

EDIT: Also, we forgot to mention: Players can assume that characters take different shifts which allow for everyone to enjoy other parts of the carnival as well instead of being stuck manning a booth the whole night. For Dunk Tank and Kissing Booth, it's best to leave your character's name in the subject of their comment to start off their thread to indicate their shift. Thank you!

EDIT 2: FORGIVE US! We forgot to mention that there is a price for some of the attractions at the carnival. This is a fundraiser where the money can to go whatever the Garden Festival Committee sees fit; we'll let the players and their characters decide on that front. Here's how the pricing goes:

KISS: 2 gil each
CARNIVAL GAME: 1 gil per game
FACE PAINTING: 2 gil per person
FOOD STALLS: We'll leave this up to characters to decide.
DUNK TANK: 5 gil for 3 balls, 10 gil for 10 balls
FORTUNE TELLING: 3 gil per reading

We hope this clarifies things!

[ And so Mami can be found all around the Gardens, and, well- exploring would be the right word. She looks around curiously from when she enters the lobby to when she goes searching around taking in her new surroundings, occasionally stopping, then standing and simply staring at things; she makes a sort of mental map of everything she sees as she explores, taking note of anything that might be important, for future reference.

She'll start looking a bit lost eventually, wandering around aimlessly and ending up in places she has already been in and then leaving, but she won't say anything and seem more amused by it every time than frustrated or worried. Though she'll make her way to the dorm eventually; one might catch her either as she's walking there or just as she is beginning to open the door and walk in.

Throughout all this, she looks startlingly and utterly calm, absolutely nothing like someone who just arrived a few minutes ago would be. ]

Has anyone happened to see anyone by the names of Kaname Madoka or Miki Sayaka? I apologize for bothering everyone, but if anyone can assist me in my search, I would sincerely appreciate it. Thank you. I am Tomoe Mami, by the way; a new arrival, so to speak. It is a pleasure to meet you all. And if anyone could tell them that I am searching for them, should they meet either of them, that would also be appreciated.

[If one were to check out the courtyard right now, they might wind up spotting a very... odd-looking guy chilling in the center of just about everything, sitting in the grass and sipping on a beverage of Questionable Fizzy Content. The troll's face is unlike any others' from the Garden so far, caked with face makeup as opposed to be relatively or entirely bare of that artificial slop.

He also seems kind of... out of it. How could one describe it as? Lethargic? No, maybe out of tune with things? Perhaps. Focused on something? Who even motherfucking knows. He's not even focused on one thing. The whole world around him is just... fascinating him on this new planet.

Garden's beautiful, life is beautiful, all that shit just going on in his little clown head.

No matter how off he seems, however, he's actually a pretty cool dude to be around. That just... might take a moment to realize beyond his high personality and low attention span due to the fact.

Approach, y/n/sopor pies?

[Tucked away in the back of the library is a table loaded up with books. On top of the books are boxes of multi-colored pencils, a good fraction of them snapped into unusable pieces. And seated at the table, obscured by all the books and boxes, is a troll, bent over a notebook, maroon colored pencil in hand, coloring away. He has homework he should be doing, but he doesn't really care. In that moment, all that mattered to him was the drawing of a robotic girl with large red eyes and graceful curves.]

Ah... Aradia... How I long to gaze once more into your soulless eyes... to read your words of patience and obedience... to hold your cold metal chasis in my arms...

[He sighs longingly, putting aside his pencil to trace blue bow lips, then glances around conspiratorially. There was no one around, was there? No one was watching? No, the coast was clear.]

[Biting his lip, he picked up the notebook, holding it aloft in front of him. With one last glance, he leaned forward, and pressed his lips to the drawing.]

[Moments later, he leaned to the side, cradling the notebook in his arms as if he was sweeping it off its feet, passionately kissing the drawing.]

Sweet, I think I got this thing to work.

[Have one very pleased looking masked speedster staring into the camera.]

Today's your lucky day, Balamb Garden. The one and only Kid Flash has arrived. Like yourselves, I suddenly found myself here. At first, I was all "Dude, what even?!" You know how that hero thing goes. Places to be, people to save, hot chick that need are need of showing their admiration, and all that good stuff. Being here was definitely not in my plans.

But then I got a letter saying that some "Sorceress" [Adds in some air quotes]sent me here. Yeah, no. News flash for everyone who doesn't already know; sorceresses and wizards don't exist. It's all smoke and mirrors mixed in with some special technology. Speaking of special technology...

Who has two thumbs and works with the world's fastest hero, who is also a scientist and deals with future technology? This guy, right here. [Thumbs to himself.]

Point me in the direction of your scientists and I'll have you out of here in a flash.

[In-between classes, Cissie's situated herself in the cafeteria with a notepad, pen, and a couple of books. With titles like 'Dating for Dummies' and 'A History of Balamb Garden', it seems like she's doing more than just homework. Every now and then, she glances up from her work to look around - and maybe to get a soda or two.

This time, before getting some more food, she walks over to the nearest table and points a thumb towards her stuff:]
Hey, could you look after my stuff for a moment? I wanna grab a soda.

Um... if you want, I could get you something to eat too! It wouldn't be a problem.

[Especially since cafeteria food these days've gotten a lot better. Now she actually doesn't mind going for seconds!]

[Knock knock, Bart! Cissie's standing in front of his door with a freshly-baked batch of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. She'll need the cookies - or so she thinks - to actually say what she wants to say this time.]
