[Locke, being a treasure hunter, naturally has a lot of experience with opening jammed locks, but not like this.

So apparently the key to his room isn't working. The reason why? An errant blob of flying fruit-paste smacked right into his door the day before. So know Locke is kneeling down in front of his door, a small set of lockpicks opened up on his knee, along with a red-stained cloth or two - looks like he's having to work out the literal jam a little bit at a time.

All while looking incredibly suspicious to anyone that doesn't recognize that this is his dorm he's going at with those metal jimmies.]
orewaonna: (WHO YOU CALLING A BOY)
[personal profile] orewaonna

[Anyone in the girls dorm, might notice what looks like a young boy hovering around the door for room B115. This supposed young man seems to be pacing and just generally glaring at the door in general distrust.]

Awe man. I can't do this. Share a room with a girl?

[Tugging on her unruly hair, Masaki can't help but frown. Maybe it'd be better to request a new room. The last thing she needs right now is some stranger to start screaming because a boy came into her room without knocking. Geeze. Thinking she hears something coming from inside the room, she turns and bolts down the hallway at top speeds.]

Forget it. I can't do this!

Oi! What's someone got to do to get a room change around here? I need to know asap. I can't share a room with a strange girl.

[Taking advantage of the fact they were on break and the fact that they were in an open space, Luna had decided that it was time to see just what she could do. Important things were coming up, at least in her opinion, and she certainly had to get ready.

But she couldn't do it alone.]

Dear friends, We have a favor to ask of you. If you have the time and would care to help us out with a little experiment, then please do meet us down by the lake in about an hour. We appreciate any and all help, nothing special is required other than for you to be honest.

[She doesn't sign it this time, but by the speech pattern it should be fairly obvious who it is.]

[About an hour later Luna is outside where she said she would be, pacing back and forth for the time being. She's done this sort of thing before, the transformation, but with this being a special holiday she needed to make sure that everything was properly set up. Thus her planning this far in advance, to make her transformation more seamless and believable, to make sure that she could go through with her ideas. Nightmare Night, or Halloween as they called it here, had become a close holiday to her once she had figured out that people had wanted to be scared by her. They didn't hate her, certainly not, but that fear was for that singular night only.

Even in this new setting she still believed it was her duty to be involved with all of it, as well as bringing in that touch of Equestrian tradition to show the differences and similarities between her world and this one.

The first order of business was the actual transformation, not something that was difficult for her. Not at all. Though she knew those that had been around a few months back would probably still remember the little incident of her locking people in Garden, not... exactly the best situation to put herself into. Though with some warning she hoped they would understand her intentions this time, intentions that weren't to cause harm or become evil in any sense of the word.

A small smirk came to her face as she abruptly stopped her pacing, taking a calming breath before allowing her magic to transform her into her bit of an alter ego as it were. The main differences being her gaining a few inches or so in height, adding armor onto her form, and losing the tiara that she always seemed to have on her.

Once that was done she took to stretching her wings, her wingspan quite a bit longer than in her true form, thus making them a bit more awkward to control. But nothing she couldn't handle. Looking around she dug through the bag she brought with her, fishing out the fake fangs to situate into her mouth. There. It was perfect. Now to wait.]

I'm not sure how to feel about figuring out I've been here a year or so now. I like it here fine, and I still have Eugene and Mot--and Gothel. I guess it's a little hard, knowing I have people waiting for me back home, but so far we haven't figured out a way to control this Time Compression to make it take us home from here, so it's not like there's a lot I can do about that. Still, I'm curious. How long have you guys been here and do you want to go home or find you actually quite like it here?

Oh, and congratulations on the winners at Homecoming! I had fun, and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves.

[There seems to be a festive atmosphere all throughout Garden. Why? Because it's the Homecoming Carnival! The Garden Festival Committee and their unaffiliated helpers have been hard at work all morning and when 1300 hours strikes, it's finally open for everyone to enjoy.

The directory has been reprogrammed slightly:
It also has a piece of paper stuck underneath:
Kissing booth: Turn around
Food booths: Around 1F main circle
Triple Triad: 2F bridge
Carnival games: Front gate area
Ferris wheel, bumper cars, carousel: Road to Balamb

Each stall/booth has free, more elaborate maps:
Big image! )

Have fun, Garden!]

Each attraction will have its own thread. We've listed the people running shifts in the top comments as a reminder to those who signed up; feel free to make your character a thread for their shift even if you missed OOC signups.

Characters have different shifts which allow for everyone to enjoy other parts of the carnival as well instead of being stuck manning a booth the whole night. For the dunk tank, kissing booth, food booths, and talent quest it's best to leave your character's name in the subject of their comment to start off their thread indicating their shift/time onstage.

Proceeds will be going towards building and furnishing a student lounge for fun stuff, so most attractions cost money:
Kissing booth: 2 gil per kiss
Ferris wheel, bumper cars, carousel: 5 gil per person
Carnival games (throwing/shooting X at Y, water gun race, whack a mole, skee ball, Ring the Bell, etc): 1 gil per game
Face painting: 2 gil per person
Food stalls: Snow cones 3 gil, cotton candy 3 gil, and funnel cake 5 gil; "food from your home world" up to individual characters
Dunk tank: 5 gil for 3 balls, 10 gil for 10 balls
Fortune telling: 3 gil per reading
Marriage booth: 5 gil a couple
Balloon animals: 3 gil an animal
Wandering entertainers: Donations welcome
Judgmental Claire stare: 5 gil

[Having opted to try this potion thing as she's ever the curious creature, she's deciding to offer a little bit of a gathering despite her better thoughts.]

Dear Garden, today We come bearing an invitation. You see, We are trying to get used to this odd... human... thing and since We are intent on using it as necessary, We feel that strengthening is in order. Thus We invite those who wish to help or can offer advice to the pool so that We may figure this out.

[If anyone does opt to go to the pool, Luna is currently clung to the edge of the pool, body luckily placed firmly against the side. Which, well, is hiding the fact that she hasn't understood the point of those clothing things and opted not to bother with them. But she at least seems to understand how to use her hands to attach to objects.

Be gentle with her, she's not entirely sure what to make of all of this.]

How unexpected, to be nominated for something like this. I would just like to start out by saying that I absolutely appreciate the nominations I received on the homecoming ballot and respect the fact that those of you who did nominate me felt that I deserved to at least be in the running.

As for my opponents, I wish them all the best in their campaigns and that we will have a clean and fair campaign against one another. I will pull no punches and campaign as I would for any other position, without the use of any kind of mud slinging or name smearing, I feel that low blows and not something that I feel comfortable with by any means.

On that note, as well, I would absolutely adore if anyone would continue to hold support for me in the competition of Homecoming Queen. I do respect the way the Garden runs and would love to be able to at least represent it in some way, shape, or form, even if it's only in title. I would also like it to be noted that I have numerous centuries of experience being a public figure, having been bestowed the title of Princess in Equestria at a young age. While I may still be young myself, I have learned through hard work and trial and error to know how one is to act in such situations.

Thus I leave you with this, friends and colleagues, if you vote for me, I promise to uphold a demeanor and responsibility worthy of the title.

Hey, any of you folks from other world bring your own GFs with you? Or things that shouldn't be GFs but are? I want to hear how they work for you.

-The Great Jecht

[Jecht sent this message from, of all places, the library. Now, seeing this bronzed athlete in there instead of swimming or just hanging out is as unlikely a sight as Garden has ever seen, but weirder still, he's got a few books stacked up and is clearly attempting to puzzle his way through one. Jecht isn't stupid, mind, but no one can accuse him of being book-smart, and the dissertation on the effects of GFs he's attempting to read is just not his style.]

[As is usual with Luna and this technology, she's opting for video feed. This time she's parked herself on the top of her chair, one wing outstretched and preening it. Though she pauses, one of the feathers in her mouth, oops.]

Aaah. [Which she promptly spits out.]

We were wondering if any of the students who have yet to take our classes would be interested in learning anything in particular. Do remember that We teach one of the drama courses along with speech and etiquette. For drama We are taking suggestions as to what those of you not even in the class would be interested in participating in, since one cannot have a cast with just current students.

As for etiquette... We figure that after the ball that some more knowledge in courtly manners may be necessary for all students. Honestly, it is rather ridiculous how uncouth some of you have become.
espio: (Default)
[personal profile] espio

[For a few days, Espio has been all over the place, and always doing something or other. He hasn't been doing his usual thing when he's not busy, which is sitting around somewhere high up with a book - nope.

For example, the fake blood in the training centre corridor the other day? That was him.

Today has involved challenging random people to Triple Triad (a game at which he's pretty much awful), playing guitar (somewhat decently) in the Quad, arguing with more random people on subjects he has no clue about (like chocobos), standing outside the home ec room in tears and cursing the very existence of onions, sneaking turnips with smiley-faces drawn on them into odd places, and casting silence on unsuspecting passers-by when certain nobody can see him.

He is really, really bored, and has no idea what to do about it.

Okay, two things:

First, "superhero" count. How many of you idiots are there now?

Second, I need swimming lessons. Not from the swimming instructor, either - ignoring the fact he's insane, I'm not a cadet, so I can't take that class.

So who all out there is interested in forming a Blitzball team? Won't be much to it since we don't have any opponents yet, but if we get enough people (and a place to play) we could have exhibitions, really get people into the game.

Blitzball, if you don't know, is played underwater. The point's to get a ball into a goal. It's a pretty rough sport, but there ain't a better one.

[See the chipper Al Bhed girl appear, wearing her cadet uniform but with her usual scarf and hair braids. She smiles and waves at the camera, and gives a thumbs up.]

[A] - [There's no one waiting to greet Gothel when she returns from the mission, but nonetheless she drops her suitcase and spreads her arms dramatically.]

Mother's back, dearies~!

[And she tries to hug a passing young cadet, but it turns out to be a cadet who's met her, and so he runs as if she's just tried to stab him.

She is currently scowling after him.]

[B] - [She is in the cafeteria at lunchtime, nibbling at a biscuit. She's not sitting too close to anyone else--or they're not sitting close to her; it's hard to tell. She seems to be preoccupied with thumbing through her syllabus.]

[C] - [After much trial and error, and hunting down the proper keys, Gothel has managed to post something on the BBS. And it only took her 30 minutes this time!]

helllo stundents students wonderful news1 your loving instructor gothel has returnned to you1 those shouldn't be ones but hyou know what i ment meant. i am very excited to see all the new arrrivals1 hugs and kisss, mother gothel.

[If there's one thing about Rorona that she's good at, it's alchemy.

Despite being a supposedly successful (and famous) alchemist back in Arland, she still managed to blow things up on a frequent basis. Most of the time, it had to do with her bombs backfiring on her in the training center, but on occasion, smoke could be observed coming from her dorm, where Rorona had set up a small workshop.

Today was no exception. Having been working on combining the two things she was good at making, pies and bombs, into one 'pie bomb', it's yielded... explosive results so far. Well, at the very least, it's been contained to a small area.

If you're looking for Rorona, this is the place to be, as she stumbles out of her dorm, covered in soot.]

Wahh... I almost had it that time! What went wrong?
moon_sigil: close up from Yuna falling from Bevelle (i can fly)

[Yuna feels pretty accomplished at the moment. She's able to find her way to her dorm room, most of the time, and she's learned how to reply to messages on the computer. Video messages are still a complete mystery to her, but she isn't too worried about it.]

[Right now she's sitting in the cafeteria during her lunch break with a bowl of fruit sitting in front of her, feeling just a little homesick. After adjusting the jacket of her uniform for the hundredth time, Yuna returns to pushing around bits of fruit with her fork.]
everdistant_utopia: (Follow me lads!)
[personal profile] everdistant_utopia
[When she made her contract with the world to offer her service as a Servant in exchange for a chance to grant her wish, Saber had been prepared to be summoned across time for the purpose of fighting in a war. But his 'summoning' wasn't even a summoning at all, but some terrible accident. Moreover, she was no longer a warrior, but a student? She had stared hard at the letter as she walked through her new surroundings, her expressionless face giving away nothing of her complete confusion. It all made sense... yet it didn't make any sense at all.

Dismissing her battle-armour and Excalibur, she remained in her blue dress, not willing to chance finding out whether or not her more modern attire had somehow come with her. She might have stood out, but at the very least she had no special need to hide that her presence was unnatural.

She paused occasionally to scrutinise her new surroundings through an experienced knight's eyes. It seemed peaceful enough... at least, on the surface. But for all she knew of this alien place, that could change.]
moon_sigil: Yuna looking down and thinking (unsure)
[personal profile] moon_sigil
[To say that Yuna is confused would be an understatement. The last thing she remembers is drifting off to sleep, and suddenly she's lying on a cold, hard floor with a strange, robed figure hovering over her saying something about sleeping in the hallway being against the rules.

After berating Yuna for a few minutes, with the poor girl unable to get a word in edgewise, the robed figure suddenly thrusts a letter into her hands and walks away. She unfolds the paper and begins reading, eyebrows furrowing the further down the letter she gets.]

[Clutching the letter, she begins wandering the hallway, searching for someone to explain what's going on. Anyone besides the incredibly rude person who woke her up, of course.]
[identity profile] shurikenfemale.livejournal.com
[So in true Turk fashion, Cissnei is exploring the place. Having the map with you and following it isn't quite the same as actually knowing the layout, now is it? She's very impressed with Balamb Garden so far. Not that it doesn't quite get rid of all of her suspicions of this place, not just yet.

You might spy the small redhead Turk passing through the Quad at a more leisurely pace.]
